At Boogs & Boop, we believe in making a difference, not only in the lives of our pets but also in the community. Our Boops for Good program is a testament to our commitment to giving back and supporting causes that matter. We are thrilled to share where our latest donation went and how it brought smiles and tail wags to an incredible autumn event.

Our Boops for Good Initiative

Before we dive into the heartwarming details of our recent donation, let's take a moment to understand what Boops for Good is all about. At Boogs & Boop, we firmly believe in the power of positive change. Our Boops for Good program is designed to do just that. We volunteer our time or donate a portion of our proceeds to various pet-related non-profit organizations, charities, and events to support their incredible initiatives. We are committed to creating a better world for our furry friends and their human companions.

Making an Impact at the Washington Square Park Dog Run Dog Day Halloween Parade

For our 2023 Q4 Boops for Good donation, we had the privilege of supporting the Washington Square Park Dog Run Association, a 501c3 non-profit organization in New York City dedicated to creating a safe and enjoyable space for dogs and their owners to play, relax, and socialize. Washington Square Park has two dog runs—one for small dogs and one for large dogs—located on 5th Avenue, Waverly Place, West 4th Street, between McDougal & Thompson streets at the south side of the park (behind the building).

The highlight of their annual calendar is undoubtedly the Dog Day Halloween event, featuring a charming Halloween parade and costume contest for dogs. This delightful gathering brings together dog lovers and their four-legged friends for a day filled with festivities and creativity. After parading through Washington Square Park, the furry participants and their owners proudly strut their adorable costumes on stage.

How Our Donation Made a Difference

Our donation helped ensure that the Dog Day Halloween event was an even greater success this year. Alongside many other small business donors, our contribution was able to provide prizes and gifts for five (5) costume contest winners, making the day even more exciting for participants.

The winners of the costume contest paraded in truly unique attire. Taking the top spot was the Comic Con collector duo, showcasing their cherished Funko Pops Beez and Morty under the Instagram handle @kaiserrollpom. Second place was awarded to @bastianandbrews who embodied the spirit of The Price Is Right. And the third-place prize was awarded to the most endearing portrayal of the NYC Department of Sanitation, captivating everyone with their unmistakable New York City flair.
